I dreamed a dream...

Day 4: how you think your life would change if you achieved your dream

Which dream is this? hahaha
I don't think I have a singular life dream that I want to already have achieved.
The real benefit of dreaming is the process towards achieving.
I'm not an instant gratification type of girl.

But more to the prompt, here are some dreams that I have (or funnier that I've had) and how they would change my life if they were to be somehow realized:
-dream to be healthier and in shape: Well, if I worked for it that would be fine, but though I dislike it, I am truely grateful for the struggle I'm having to achieve a healthier lifestyle. I'm learning a lot about sacrificing things that don't matter for something that does even if I'm not seeing the results I want. Being the shape that I am has taught me to love myself enough the way I am to want to take better care of myself becaue I matter. It would change my life because I'd be healthier, happier, and stronger. One day I will have that. (:
-dream that I almost got married:i've had two dreams about almost getting married (like dreams when I was asleep). If one of them was true I would currently be on the run from the mafia (I ran away). If the other is true, then Sheldon Cooper is groveling at my feet for forgiveness and I am best friends with all of One Direction. ...don't even get me started on how weird that dream was. hahaha
-dream of being a mother and homemaker: hmm, well if this was true I would be married. I am willing to wait for that. Truthfully, I don't worry about it or about being forever alone or anything. I know that what happens will happen and I'll end up where I'm supposed to be. All I know is I'm going to have the most warm and friendly house around. It will be bright, happy, and LIVED in.
-dream of serving a mission- it's coming!
-dream of returning to live with my Father in Heaven! -well, i'd be dead. HoweverT, I simply have to much to do before this can happen. For example, first i have to achieve my dream of changing the world. :D

Also Yesterday's Picture:

Yesterday I went to the gym with Jon and Kendall. Then I went to the library, then to Lexy's where we made pumpkin cookies ! (the pumpkin is why the dough looks so yellow) (of which I ate none, yay for self control). Then I went to basketball. Then I went to mutual, but sorta ditched for homework. Then I went to basketball with the boys, but sorta ditched the last two minutes because I was literally about to punch a certain boy in the face.

Then I stayed up all night talking to my parents. Love them.

Today's Pictures:

Today was a good day. I went to King with Lexy to provide childcare for the pep program. Then took my sister's to the library for family craft night. Then ran some errands for my mom, which is why we took ridiculous(ly awesome) pictures in my car. yay for sibling bonding. hahaha I have felt sick all day, but I am determined to survive.

Day 3 (its a good one!)

I believe that there is a plan for each of us overall as a human family and as individuals.

Overall, my purpose on being since to earth (as well as anyone who reads this') is the be tried and tested so that I can return to live in heaven with my Father in Heaven.
Each of us individually has a reason why we are here. Personally, I think each of us has a mission to fulfill while we're here on earth. I am here to change the world.

I also think that we are continually places in circumstances and instances where we can do good for others.

Ask me more about this later when I'm not falling asleep as I type if you're interested.

I believe in Yesterday.

Yesterday:
 I went to school.
Had all of my hard classes.
Went to SCA.
Dropped my brother at home.
Went to work for 5 hours.
Came home.
Got some food.
And went to bed.

Sounds like a grind right? Wrong. It was fabulous. This is my picture of the day from yesterday.

Because it was pretty sweet.

I think one of the most beautiful things about life is that even the days that are filled with things to do that can have small moments that make everything worthwhile. That can make an ordinary day extraordinary.

These are things that made yesterday great:
-I did my calculus homework before it was due. Also, I understood all of it.
-The work we did in Calc was way easy for me. That's always a sigh of relief.
-In physics Karen and I finished our lab the class before it was due.
-I got to crochet in every class. Ballin'.
-In english I preformed a song I wrote for our class that was about the theme of disguise and deception in Othello and 12th Night. I played it on my uke and sang. Williard told the class I got a 120. I never put any hard work into that class because things are so easy, so getting a good grade that I actually worked for was way gratifying. Moreso than I remember.
-Michael and I "played" popcorn by ourselves in the back of english. #thugs
-Walking out to our cars (and in physics) I made Xavier laugh a lot. It made me happy because I love being funny and making people laugh, but my sense of humor is so dumb (I blame my Dad). haha Also, sidenote: walking to the car I told him I got an A because the song I wrote was about him. lol
-During SCA as well as afterwork I took time to talk to people who weren't having fabulous days (this isn't what made my day better..). Talking to them made me think about how all of us have problems, I felt so much love for the people I was talking to and it felt like a glimpse of the love Heavenly Father has for each of us.
-I found my check card. ...in my wallet. (of course)
-I had a good shift at work, and for bits no one was there and I got to hangout with co-workers.
-All my favorite front desk people were working so I got to talk with them.
-Claudio told me that everyone calls him daddy, so I said I'd call him Papi. He likes it.
-I can home, sat around with Gabe, and ate ice-cream for dinner. because a day this good deserves to end deliciously.

THE END.

Day 2.

Today was fabulous. I will surely post about it tomorrow because it is past my bedtime. BUT FIRST!

Day 2: something that’s illegal but you think it should be legal

Hmm. Maybe I'm a bit rebellious, but loitering.
Seriously? That's so silly.
Also, I think that you should be allowed to turn left at a red light if absolutely no one is present and the light is never changing. We can call it, "The Slow Light Exception."

This is a lame post because it was probably assuming people would rant about gay marriage or marajuna. I won't do that though. Plus, topics like those come up later anyways.

Something I think should be illegal:

tailgaiting.

can cops just start pulling obnoxious drivers over?
That would be nice.

I am just rambling now because I want to go to bed. Better posts tomorrow I pinky swear.
I will do it when I have early release. Like a boss.

Day1

So I guess I accidentally lied.
I didn't do it yesterday because I didn't bring my camera inside.
here goes for today though!

Day 1: hopes, dreams, and plans for the next 365 days with a picture of yourself

Hopes:
I hope that I smile more.
I hope that I complain less.
I hope that I will judge less and help more.
I hope that I will sing fearlessly and dance crazily.
I hope that I put my trust in God and not man.
I hope that I see beauty in the world around me.
I hope I can wake up each day a little better than the day before.

Dreams (/Goals):
I dream of learning new things: crochet, breadmaking, sewing, and beatboxing.
I dream of serving a mission for the church.
I dream of finding a new someone who I can tell anything, who I can laugh, share, and cry with.
I dream of being happier with my family.
I dream of taking more photos and making more memories.
I dream of being healthier and happier.
I dream of being more converted to Christ.

Plans:
I plan to get into BYU.
I plan to graduate highschool and pass all my AP Tests.
I plan to love and serve the Lord as I prepare to go on a mission.
I plan to go on a beachweek trip, with my mom! :D

So Let's Begin Again...

So I have been working on a lot of fun projects and changes, so I thought I'd better update since it's been beyond too long! Since the new year...
-I've started working again.
-I turned 18! (But I am still not an adult.)
-I started getting better about working out!
-I have been playing my instruments more!
-I've begun to learn how to crochet!
-I did really well on all of my midterms!
& -I've decided to get back on tumblr! (which has been a long time coming.)
That blog is alyssajoybro.tumblr.com if you are interested.
I like it because it's basically a picture blog.
with occasion thoughts and quotes... (:

Also, I am going to do the 365 day challenge. (I know that I will actually post daily, well, I know I won't since I'll be on Trek in July! (super exciting!), but I will definietly answer all the prompts!

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It...

Hello all! This post is actually directed towards P. Willy Young Woman, but if you aren't feel free to follow the links because they are wonderfully uplifting. It holds the personal study sources (aka the challenge) for our upcoming lesson on January 26th, the week following stake conference...

The Question our lesson will focus on is:
Who am I, and who can I become?
Pinned ImageWe sing I am a child of God and recite the young woman's theme each week, but do we really know what it means? When we know what it means do we realize what a blessing and impact this knowledge has in our lives? Through your personal study ponder these things. If you don't know that you are a loved daughter of our Heavenly Father, pray for a confirming witness of His love each time you study (or if you do know pray for a reminder). Consider in what ways knowing you are a daughter of God has blessed and edified you and how it has effected your life. If any experiences come to mind record them in your study note book and feel free to share them in our lesson. For the next two weeks, make a conscious effort to note how this knowledge effects your life and actions. Happy studying! :D

Over the next few weeks your mission is to complete (as much as possible) the following:
-Listen to this song:

-Read this story.

Pinned ImageAs a man walked a desolate beach one cold, gray morning he began to see another figure, far in the distance. Slowly the two approached each other, and he could make out a local native who kept leaning down, picking something up and throwing it out into the water. Time and again he hurled things into the ocean. As the distance between them continued to narrow, the man could see that the native was picking up starfish that had been washed upon the beach and, one at a time, was throwing them back into the water. Puzzled, the man approached the native and asked what he was doing.
"I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it's low tide right now and all of these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If I don't throw them back into the sea, they'll die up here from lack of oxygen."
"But there must be thousands of starfish on this beach," the man replied. "You can't possibly get to all of them. There are just too many. And this same thing is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down this coast. Can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference?"
The local native smiled, bent down and picked up another starfish, and as he threw it back into the sea he replied, "It made a difference to that one!"

-Read these talks.

-Lastly, each time you look in the mirror ponder Who/What you see in your reflection. Write down any thoughts or impressions you have in your study notebook.

Additional Study Ideas:
-What women in your life who are role model's of knowing who we are as children of God and acting accordingly? What makes them stand out to you? Record thoughts in your journal.
-Read this blog entry about what we could learn by following Mary's example.
-Study and consider what it means to be valiant. Record your thoughts in your study notebook.
-Read the scriptures: Genesis 1:26–27, Psalm 82:6; Moses 1:39; Abraham 3:22–26, Luke 15:4–6, 11–32; John 3:16; D&C 18:10–15, Mormon 9:27. Consider what they teach about who we are, what our potential is, and how our Father in Heaven views us as His daughters.

Start and end each of your personal study sessions with a prayer. Remember to be open to promptings of the spirit as to what you should study and to record any thoughts or impressions that you have as you prepare for our discussion.
